5/21/17 to 6/3/17: Running with the Turkeys!

So, the last two weeks have been alright I suppose.  Mileage is alright.  Workouts are alright.  Dead legs come and go.  Anyways, one quick story from my run on May 22nd.

I finished my run and picked up Raleigh to add on a few miles, and we zig-zagged through the neighborhood.  As we're going up Reservoir Street, I see a big male turkey up ahead and stop to let Raleigh react (his reaction was to pee on a tree).  Someone on the other side of the street called out to mention the turkey and ask how my dog reacts, because his dog go crazy.  I mentioned that it varies and sometimes he just doesn't care.  Anyways, I continue on and we pass the turkey giving it a wide birth then take a left onto Highland.  I'm cruising along admiring the big homes when all of a sudden a big female turkey jumps out about 3 feet ahead of us.  Thankfully we weren't running quicker!  So, I stopped abruptly and pulled Raleigh back...then out of curiosity, I waited for his reaction.  Turns out, he once again wanted to find a tree to pee on.  The turkey noticed that Raleigh didn't care and starts to move towards us, at which point I decided that we should just move along...so as we're backing up and then continuing on, the turkey follows our exact path, then puffs up and spreads its wings a little bit...and starts chasing us!  I started to go a little faster, and he keeps coming, I start laughing / yelling at Raleigh.  "Raleigh!  Let's go, there's a friggin turkey chasing us!!!"....and Raleigh did not care.  Not at all.  After about 30-50 feet the turkey finally gave up.  It was hilarious.  What a run!
