12/7 to 12/13: Keep Grinding

Both track workouts were killer this week.  Tuesday, in particular, was a challenging workout that I've had to back off from when attempting it during recent Tuesday night workouts.

I've been making the decision on how to approach the Tuesday night workouts as I get through each rep - so the past few weeks I felt pretty gassed in the middle of the workout and elected to stick with the 400s instead of going to the 600s.  The reasoning behind this is that I think I get more benefit out of a strong 400 vs a 600 where my form is falling apart. This threw a bit of a wrench in my plans as the weeks progressed, because I wanted to build up to including some longer stuff - but in the end I think it is the right choice. Especially since I've remained healthy - the #1 goal. Anyways, this week I felt good enough to keep going with the 600's. That was nice.

Thursday night was more 5k paced stuff, but the 1k reps were pretty quick and with the miles already in the legs from the commute to/from work and then the run over to the track...well, it was a lot of mileage with some great quality mixed in there. Also nice.

Assault on Mt. Hood will have it's own race report...so let's just get to the freaking point already!

7-Dec Long Run 0:07:43 18.23 Battle Road with CSU. Felt pretty good. Right knee got a little achy, but otherwise felt good.
8-Dec Easy/Easy 0:07:20 10.19 AM: A quicker commute. 4m at ~7:20/mile.
PM: ~6m commute home at whatever.
9-Dec Easy/Mile Training 0:07:55 17.22 AM: Commute 4m at ~8min/mile.
PM: Commute home then 400x3/600x4/400x3 at the Harvard indoor track. Really happy with this workout. 1:12.5 for the 4s, 1:50.8 for the 6s.
10-Dec Easy/Easy 12.19 AM: 4m commute at whatever.
PM: 6m home then another 2 w/Raleigh & Eli for 8m tot.
11-Dec Easy/BU Intervals 21.66 AM: 4m commute at whatever.
PM 4m commute, run to BU, (1000/600/200)x3, run home. Lots of mileage and the workout went really well.
12-Dec Easy/Easy 10.96 AM: 4m commute at whatever.
PM: ~7m home, then off to Eli's work holiday party. Good times.
13-Dec Assault on Mt. Hood 9.82 AM: Assault on Mt. Hood. Holy crap what a challenging course. 5th place. Out kicked. God damnit.
